Leaving Marsabit was very sad. It's a special place, that town in the north, in the middle of nowhere. There is a real sense of 'old' culture. Traditions from Somalia, Samburu, Rendille, Gabra and especially Ethiopia are still very much alive. There is also such a sense of community, amid the miss-mash of different peoples. And of course there was Family, a lot of Family. More Family in fact, than i have experienced in all my life of living in one. Yes, i really love this little town the middle of the northern frontier desert.
