Mombassa is beautiful, a richly historical city, of course with its full and proud african chaos but (unlike nairobi) with a lovely ocean breeze, full of palm trees, coconuts on the side of the road and a wonderful laid-back feeling.

Mombasa
We travelled by bus to Mombassa (a rather long journey, i had some funky stomach thing happening and was half conscious, luckily of course i had a lot of help from family, but i definitely felt the full 8 hour bus ride for what it was: an 8 hour bus ride!)
